Balanced dog training uses a mixture of positive reinforcement and fair corrections to modify dog behavior.

There are a few key concepts that drive our training. The main one is that when put into daily practice, Love, Respect and Consistency will result in Trust, Confidence and Predictability.   To us the words "Pack" and "Family" are interchangeable.  And in our experience, every family "raises" their young.  So at The Harmonious Pack we like to think that we "train" humans how to "raise" their dogs.  We offer tried-and-true methods to establish the "rules" of the house, ie. the expectations that come with living in a family.  By following a few simple tenets;
1. Human is the Gatekeeper
2. Confidence through calmness
3. Follow-through
4. Alternative choices
5. Baby-steps

we start communicating with our dog in a more meaningful way.  There are no secrets to dog training and The Harmonious Pack is here for one main reason, to Nurture the Natural Bonds we already have and to Create the Balance we are all seeking.

Private targeted behavior class

$125 plus tax

A private lesson in which we can work on specific behaviors at the request of the human in charge.  Lessons are designed to provide the human in charge with the appropriate strategies and skills to address a specific behavior. Target behaviors can include but are not limited to; Barking at strangers, Jumping on guests, Leash reactivity, Dog introductions, Rough play with other dogs or humans. The skills gained in these lessons need to be practiced regularly in order to be effective.  Sessions are not designed to eliminate a specific behavior in the class (although that has happened).  Sessions typically run 1-2 hours but are not restricted by a time limit. Sessions come with a free follow-up consultation.

Basic Obedience Package

$500 plus tax

The basics for building (or rebuilding) the relationship you've always wanted with your pup.  An introduction in communicating effectively with your dog, establishing consistent markers for modifying behavior, and general training philosophy are part of the curriculum as well as "The essential 7";  Sit, Look at me, Stay, Down, Leave it, Drop it, and Come.  These commands could save your dogs life, so we start here. Finally, Getting out of the house. What it looks and feels like to go for an organized, respectful walk in which everyone has a good time.  With the Basic Obedience Package you are set up to thrive as you will have a solid understanding of how to control your dog in a variety of environments.

Doggo University

$900 plus tax

A 10 class series designed to provide you with the fundamentals of becoming a dog trainer to your dog. Everything from the Basic Obedience course but also includes Advanced level Obedience Training, Introducing your dog to other dogs, Operating in high-stress environments and Off-leash recall. Dog Training Philosophy and Pack Dynamics are part of the discussion as well as Body Language and what it truly means to set your dog up for success.  Class locations begin in the home and gradually move outdoors into more challenging environments eventually ending in parks, shopping centers and restaurants.  Each level of learning should be nearly mastered before moving ahead into a more challenging environment, therefore the speed of the "semester" is determined by how consistent the human in charge is in implementing the lessons.  Classes include some lecture and hands on practice of demonstrated techniques. Classes may be both indoors and outdoors so dress everyone accordingly for weather.  Classes to meet no more than once per week.

Eddy completely changed our lives and relationship with our dog. We had a very energetic, unmanageable, reactive 80 lbs dog and were at the end of our leash trying to DIY train him. Within 5 minutes of meeting our dog, Eddy understood what our dog needed and showed us just how easy it would be to build trust and understanding with our dog. Eddy was extremely accommodating to our schedules and was so good at showing us the techniques he uses. Our dog is still energetic, but now we have a calm house, a manageable walking schedule, and a happy dog. Eddy is a genius with dogs and everyone should reach out to him for their training needs!

If you are looking to hire a dog trainer I highly recommend Eddy! I did five sessions with him to work on dog reactivity and socialization for my new rescue pitbull. What a difference! I can take her just about anywhere now and she even falls asleep in petsmart. He helped me safely socialize her with new dogs including his own, and taught me how to read her body language and understand her better. Not only does she have dog friends now, but he even helped me find the right puppy to be her new baby brother! His rates are reasonable and he really understands how to help humans be better pack leaders!

I'm very thankful for Eddy's help with our reactive pit bull. Big progress was made with his help on training. He even let us borrow a crate to test crate training which was a success! I highly recommend him and will be using his dog walking services in the future.

For anyone looking for someone to help deal with a dog, and really people training please connect with Eddy. He took our 9yr old incredibly reactive rescue pit Missy and changed her world. My daughter walks her with zero hesitation and has dealt with her being charged by off leash dogs and had no issue. Before that we didn’t even feel she was safe riding in the car because she would “protect” from her vantage point. She can now walk through Petsmart with the best girl manners!
