The Harmonious Pack's Mission

IMG-20210806-WA0008.jpg

The Harmonious Pack is here for two main purposes; To nurture the natural bonds between dogs and their humans and to create a balanced harmony within your pack.  At The Harmonious Pack we strengthen the individual parts of your pack to form a more cohesive whole.  We believe that it is essential to provide every pack member (humans included) with the resources and education they need to be the best pack members they can be. At THP we believe the first step is understanding the specific needs of every dog we meet.  Every dog is an individual and requires a personalized approach in regards to their breed, temperament, and history. That's why at THP we offer a range of services that is informed by all major schools of thought on dog training and behavior therapy. We provide a preliminary assessment of every dog to ensure we are applying the techniques that will work best for your dog specifically. There are some basics as well and these may apply to all dogs, for example; making sure your dog is getting the exercise and socialization they require. Which is why THP offers separate services to help you there as well.

Love, Respect, Consistency. These are the basic principles that all animals understand. If we can cultivate these three principles into daily practice then we get Trust, Confidence, Predictability.  These are the qualities we try to foster in all members of every pack.

A dog lover first and foremost. With a big heart and a penchant for taking in strays, Eddy has been rescuing and rehabilitating dogs since the early 2000's. Trial by fire was his beginning approach to dog training, however, with several amazing mentors and countless hours of research regarding animal behavior and psychology, dog training has become a way of life for Eddy and his crew. A graduate of both the University of Vermont and Morrisville State University, Eddy spent much of his academic career focused on behavioral psychology and education with a side of automotive sciences, which together form an unconventional skill set that lends itself better to dog whispering than one might think. Born and raised on the East coast, he spent much of his life exploring the woods and mountains wherever he could find them. Eddy developed a powerful love and respect for nature and animals, which drives his life now. His decision to work with dogs comes in large part from his parents' passion for rescuing and fostering dogs in Central New York during his youth. It’s a passion that he continues to carry today. With years of experience raising his own rescue animals, Eddy has learned many important lessons in understanding canine behavior. The most important one however is that there are no bad dogs, and every dog just wants to be part of a pack.
